Concierge Care Advisors ongoing effort to foster social connections and community engagement for seniors continues in 2018. Our first big event was a great success, providing seniors the opportunity to attend a Mariners baseball game at Safeco Field. It is a way to help seniors overcome depression and loneliness and it was inspiring to see the excitement and joy we were able to bring to our amazing seniors!
Another remarkable outcome of this event was the partnership between senior care providers. We needed to find a caregiver escort for remarkable senior Glenn, in order for him to attend the Mariners baseball event. Glenn has been a Mariners fan for many years but he has not been able to attend a game for quite a long time. He was very excited to win the opportunity to attend the game. Unfortunately, a family caregiver escort was not available, so I reached out to Home Care Assistance – a trusted and reliable in-home care provider – to assist with a caregiver escort for Glenn. Home Care Assistance stepped up to the plate by providing caregiver Tyna to escort Glenn. I am also grateful to the Queen Anne Healthcare team for the quality care they provide their long-term care residents, and for referring Concierge Care Advisors to their short-term rehabilitation senior patients needing transition from home.
All of our ancillary care and service providers deserve a big high-five for giving their time and assistance to their seniors. They made a big difference to Glenn, as was apparent in his enthusiasm and joy at being in attendance at the game that day!
