By Jennifer James, Senior Advisor at Concierge Care Advisors
April is National Occupational Therapy Month; therefore, I would like to spotlight this wonderful industry.
The biggest reason Occupational Therapy is beneficial is that people want to take care of themselves. Seniors want to be able to complete personal task, such as bathing, dressing, going to bathroom etc. with little to no assistance as possible.
Occupational Therapy is the ONLY group that the primary focus is to improve self-care and promote self-independence. This may include self-eating, dressing, bathroom, or something as small as preparing a meal, even helping with managing a calendar or bill pay.
Occupational therapy can assist a senior wherever they may be, including assisted living, home, or adult family home. We at CCA can assist to ensure that senior gets the referral directly and even facilitate making sure they have a plan.
Contact a senior advisor today as we can assist with all-inclusive care, including helping with making referrals and seeing our seniors through the processes.
Thank you, Therapists, for all that you do!
