By Vannah Rose Roberto, Certified Concierge Care Advisor
I have recently returned from a long overdue vacation back home where I am from. Many may or may not have heard of The Northern Mariana Islands or otherwise known as Saipan. During my trip back home, I reflected a lot on how different Saipan (and many other third-world countries) is from America. How privileged we are when we are to have so many resources on hand to assist in many aspects of our lives, specifically when it comes to senior living. In Saipan, there is no such thing as Senior placement options. There are no senior advisors, at least not to the extent to what we know and specialize in here at Concierge Care Advisors. Senior citizens on Saipan do not have ample resources to assist with navigating healthcare, or even benefits that may be available to them on island. Many just “get by” through relying on friends and family to provide care and assistance.
I have come across a lot of my own family members over the age of 65 that are retired and basking in all the time they now have and my main question to them is “so, what’s next”? It was such a strong question and even more eye-opening for myself as a senior advisor; listening to all the different answers I got. The loudest answer I got from some, is no answer at all.
I talk about all of this to highlight a resource like Concierge Care Advisors. It is a resource that we are proud to be able to provide to seniors and families. To be able to walk you through a step-by-step plan to getting you or your loved one on the right track to making tough and difficult decisions in the near future. It was a humbling experience to be back on island and think about just how our seniors get all the proper information to make things just a little easier for them to navigate, even if it is as simple as understanding their benefits and what they may qualify for. This is what we do on a daily basis, and we have all the tools in our shed to help you and your loved one!
