In this article, we go over the other huge difference between realtors and our senior care advisors.
We’re Here for You Even After the Moving Process
This is by no means meant to make realtors look like bad people. When last I checked, only something like 7% of Americans buy/sell homes without a realtor and for good reason. First of all, there’s a lot of legal jargon and paperwork involved – and who wants to go through that. And second of all, most realtors I have met are good people – heck, they become realtors because of their people skills.
However, typically your relationship with a realtor begins and ends with the home. Once the home is sold, the connection fades.
(I say “fades” because many realtors will stay in moderate touch – sending out holiday emails or an annual newsletter – but also, many stay loosely in touch because you may buy another home some day and hope you’ll give them a call.)
However, that’s not the case with our senior care advisors.
If something happens to your elder and you need legal assistance, we know a lot of people in the industry (with the same hearts) that can help.
If you suddenly discover that your senior is entitled to Veterans Benefits, but don’t know how to navigate the website, let alone how to apply for the funds, we’ve helped people through the process hundreds of times before.
If you decide you don’t want to move your senior into a senior living community, but would like recommendations for in home care nurses that have a commendable track record or a history of working with seniors who suffer from a similar condition, we will help.
If you need assistance with funeral services and are mourning the loss of a loved one, we can help or point you in the direction of someone that can.
If your family or your elder fall under financial hardships and suddenly affording a senior housing community is beyond your budget, we can help you through the Medicaid process and potentially finding other funds or assets that your senior may be eligible for.
In addition, even if you don’t need other resources, we’re still here for you and keep our lines of communication open. Unlike buying a home, we believe firmly that seniors should only need to move ONCE. So even though our work is done, we’ll still be at your beck and call should you need us.
What’s more, and this is part of what separates us from other senior housing communities as well, we visit all the senior care facilities semi-regularly, so we drop by from time to time and always remember the seniors we’ve helped there. Certainly, we’re never going to harass you, but we always like to check in and make sure everything is to your liking.
We’ve been down this road many times and we don’t charge for any of this because we’re here to help. Of course, actions speak louder than words, so all you need to do is find out for yourself.
